Teen facing court as inquiries into Inverell, Armidale break-ins continue, NSW

A teenage boy is facing court tomorrow after a number of alleged break-ins at Armidale and Inverell, NSW Police say.

It is alleged the break-ins occurred in January and February 2017. The most recent of these was at the home of an 80-year-old woman at Inverell. The woman told police she was threatened with a garden tool before her jewellery was taken.

The teenager was arrested this morning today at a house in Inverell.

The 17-year-old was charged with a number of offences including assault with intent to rob in company with wounding, receiving, aggravated break and enter (x2), take and drive conveyance and robbery in company.

He was refused bail to appear in a children’s court tomorrow (2 March 2017).

Inquiries into the break-ins are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
