Teenage abscondee, NSW

Police are seeking public assistance to locate a teenager who absconded from a juvenile correctional facility at Wagga Wagga today, NSW Police say.

Ayeden Jones, 17, absconded from the facility about 5.30pm (Tuesday 22 May 2018).

Police from Riverina Police District were alerted to the youth’s escape and immediately stepped up patrols of the area; however, he could not be found.

Investigating officers are now seeking public assistance as they try to locate the teenager, who has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170-175cm tall, with a thin build, and blond hair.

He was last seen wearing a maroon jumper, and dark grey tracksuit pants and may be heading to the Lake Illawarra area.

Anyone who sees Ayeden Jones should not approach him, but should instead call Triple Zero (000), or anyone with information that might assist in locating him is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
