Teenage cat burglars arrested at Northfield, SA

Three teenagers have been arrested after a break-in at a Northfield home overnight, according to SA Police.

About 1.20 am on Tuesday 31 January, an occupant of a West Avenue, Northfield house got up and found an intruder in their house. The suspect turned and ran out the back door with a stolen purse.

Police were called immediately and started searching the area.

An examination of the scene revealed the intruder had gained entry by removing the cat door from the rear door.

While the victims were cancelled the stolen credit cards, the bank informed them a card had just been used at a nearby service station on Hampstead Road, Clearview. A patrol was just arriving at the service station and located three suspects, allegedly in possession of the stolen credit card.

The trio, two boys and a girl, all aged 16 from Northfield, were arrested and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft. They were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court on 10 March.
