Teenage girl charged after home destroyed by fire at Brewarrina

A 13-year-old girl has been charged following investigations into a house fire in the state's north west earlier this month.

About 4am on Wednesday 16 October 2019, emergency services responded to reports of a house fire at a home on Narran Street at Brewarrina.

On arrival, first responders found the home engulfed in flames.

Despite efforts the house was completely destroyed by fire, however no persons were injured as a result.

Following inquiries, officers attached to Central North Police District spoke with a 13-year-old girl in relation to the incident on Thursday (24 October 2019).

The girl was charged with damage property by fire – less than $2000, destroy property in company use fire – more than $5000, cause or set fire to the property of another or Crown.

She was granted conditional bail to appear before a children's court on Tuesday 17 December 2019.
