A teenage girl has been arrested after a man was injured when a shopping trolley was allegedly thrown over a railing at a shopping centre in Sydney's north shore today.
Just after 11.50am (Monday 15 September 2025) emergency services responded to reports that a man had sustained serious injuries at a shopping centre on Victoria Avenue, Chatswood when a shopping trolley was allegedly thrown over a railing, striking the man below.
Officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command were told a 59-year-old man was walking on the ground floor of the shopping centre when he was struck.
The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for head and facial injuries before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
Following inquiries, a 13-year-old girl was arrested at the scene.
She was taken to Chatswood Police Station where she is assisting with inquiries.
A crime scene has been established and police seized the shopping trolley to be forensically examined.
