Teenager charged after allegedly pointing pistol at police officer in Hornsby

A teenager has been charged after he allegedly pointed what appeared to be a pistol at a police officer in Hornsby yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 12.30pm today, police were called to a building on Hunter Street after members of the public saw the teen carrying what appeared to be a silver-grey coloured pistol.

A short time later, a male Sergeant approached the teen who allegedly pointed the pistol at the face of the police officer.

The Sergeant has drawn his service firearm and called for the teen to drop the pistol, to which he complied.

Further investigations at the scene established that the alleged pistol was an imitation.

A 15-year-old teen was arrested and conveyed to Hornsby Police Station where he was charged with possess prohibited pistol and assault police.

The teen was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today tomorrow.
