Teenager Charged After Armed Robbery - Southern Highlands

A teenager will face court charged after an alleged armed robbery in the state's south.

About 8.20pm yesterday (Friday 17 October 2025), police were called to a tobacconist on Argyle Street, Moss Vale, following reports of an armed robbery.

Officers attached to The Hume Police District attended and were told a group of teenagers allegedly entered the store and threatened a man with a machete, before taking items and leaving the area on foot.

No injuries were reported in relation to the incident.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

About 2.55am this morning (Saturday 18 October 2025), police were called to the same store following reports a group were attempting to break in.

Police attended and arrested a 15-year-old boy at the scene.

He was taken to Southern Highlands Police Station where he was charged with:

  • Robbery armed with offensive weapon
  • Aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal less than or equal to $60,000
  • Possess means of disguising face with intent commit indictable offence
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime under $100,000 and,
  • Custody of knife in public place.

The boy was granted conditional bail to appear in a children's court on Tuesday 11 November 2025.

Inquiries are ongoing to locate four others believed to be involved.
