Teenager charged after brawl at Lake Macquarie, NSW

A teenage girl has been charged following an out of control party at Lake Macquarie last week, NSW Police say.

Just after 9.00pm on Friday (10 February 2017), officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were called to Ida Street, Charlestown following reports of a large party.

An estimated crowd of 300 was located at the scene, and a large number of police were required to attend and disperse the crowd. In total 11 people were arrested.

Two teenage girls were taken to John Hunter Hospital suffering the effects of suspected drug overdoses.

Officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, a 14-year-old girl attended Belmont Police Station and spoke with investigators today.

She was arrested and charged with supply prohibited drug, and possess prescribed restricted substance.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Monday 13 March 2017.
