Teenager charged after stabbing - Merrylands

A teenage girl will appear in court today charged following an alleged stabbing in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 4pm (Tuesday 27 April 2021), emergency services responded to reports of a brawl at Merrylands Railway Station.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command found a teenage girl with a stab wound to the arm.

The girl, aged 15, was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Children's Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic police.

Three teenage girls – one aged 14 and two aged 16 – were arrested at the scene and taken to Fairfield and Auburn Police Stations, where they were later released.

Following inquiries, a further 16-year-old girl was arrested at a home in Hoxton Park about 11.30pm.

She was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and larceny.

The teenager was refused bail to appear before a Children's Court today (Wednesday 28 April 2021).
