Teenager charged over break and enter - Leichhardt

A teenager has been charged over an alleged break and enter in Leichhardt in June this year.

About 3.50am on Saturday (3 June 2023), police were informed that three men broke into a restaurant on Norton Street, Leichhardt.

They allegedly stole cash from the restaurant before fleeing the scene on foot towards Pioneer Park.

Following extensive inquiries, officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command arrested a 14-year-old boy in Canada Bay on Thursday (22 June 2023).

He was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company damage property and aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal.

He was refused bail and appeared before a Children's Court later that day, where he was granted conditional bail to reappear Monday 28 August 2023.
