Teenager charged with multiple break and enter offences at Tamworth

A teenager has been charged over multiple break and enter offences in the state's west today.

Police from Oxley Target Action Group are investigating multiple break and enters in the Tamworth area as part of Operation Southbreak, which occurred between Friday 29 March 2019 and Friday 12 April 2019.

Following inquiries, a 15-year-old boy attended Grafton Police Station yesterday (Thursday 13 June 2019) where he was arrested by officers attached to Oxley Target Action Group.

He was charged with seven counts of break, enter and steal, and four counts of break, enter with intent.

He was refused bail to appear at a Children's Court on Tuesday 9 July 2019.

The boy's arrest follows last month's arrest and charging of a Tamworth male with 38 break and enter offences, also under Operation Southbreak.

Operation Southbreak has been underway since 2018 and will continue to investigate incidents of theft in the Tamworth area.
