Teenager dies after crash near Port Macquarie, NSW

A teenage girl has died following a crash on the state’s north coast yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just after 4pm (Friday 9 March 2018), emergency services were called to Beechwood Road at Yippon Creek, about 20kms west of Port Macquarie, following reports of a crash.

A Holden Barina travelling north and a Hino truck travelling south collided head on.

The Holden driver, a 17-year-old girl, was treated by paramedics and taken to Port Macquarie Hospital, where she died.

The truck driver, a 34-year-old man, was injured and taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
