Teenager dies four months after trail bike crash

A teenager has died four months after a motorcycle crash on the state's Far North Coast.

About 4.15pm on Wednesday 9 October 2019, emergency services were called to Warrambool Road after reports that a trail bike and white Holden utility had collided.

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District attended and commenced investigations.

Police were told that the unregistered trail bike was being ridden east along Coomburra Crescent when the bike and a Holden utility, travelling south along Warrambool Road, collided.

The trail bike rider, then aged 16, was flown to Gold Coast University Hospital with critical injuries.

Police were yesterday advised the boy died on Monday 24 February 2020.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
