Teenager stabbed at Southbank apartments

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a stabbing in Southbank last night.

Investigators have been told two groups of people were involved in a number of small confrontations with one another, at a City Road apartment complex, which escalated throughout Saturday evening.

The groups of men and women, who were unknown to one another and staying in short stay accommodation, were in apartments four floors apart.

The incidents culminated in a confrontation in the foyer, where a 19-year-old young man was stabbed.

The teenager was conveyed to hospital and is now believed to be in a stable condition.

Four males fled the scene.

Detectives have a number of follow up enquiries to make in relation to those involved.

No one else was seriously injured.
