A teenager has been stabbed, and a man has been charged following an alleged affray in Sydney's Inner West overnight.
Just after 12.30am today (Saturday 25 July 2026), emergency services were called to King Street, Newtown, following reports a teenager had been assaulted by a group of people before they left the scene.
A 17-year-old boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to hospital in a stable condition for treatment of multiple stab wounds to his head and back.
Officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
Police have established the 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old known to him were allegedly involved in an affray with three unknown males, before the unknown males allegedly stabbed the 17-year-old boy.
Police have recovered two knives.
The 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Newtown Police Station, where he was charged with affray.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Newtown Local Court on Tuesday 18 August 2026.
Investigations are ongoing.
