Teens Charged After Orange Pursuit

Four teenagers have been charged following a pursuit with police in the state's overnight.

About 10.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 30 April 2025, a Mercedes – reportedly stolen from an Orange home on Tuesday – attended a service station at Kelso, and the occupants failed to pay for petrol after filling up.

Police were notified and about 10.45pm, officers attached to Operation Soteria sighted the Mercedes on Torulosa Way, Orange.

The Mercedes failed to stop as directed and a pursuit was initiated, travelling towards Spring Hill where it has collided with a safety barrier on Worboys Street and come to stop.

Four males fled from the vehicle and a 15-year-old boy was arrested a shortly after. The others hid nearby and following a coordinated search, the three teens, aged 15 and 16, were arrested.

They were all taken to Orange Police Station, and each charged with be carried in conveyance and dishonestly obtain financial advantage.

A 16-year-old from Orange was granted conditional bail to appear at a children's court on Thursday 15 May 2025.

A 15-year-old boy from Orange was also charged with custody of a knife. A second boy, aged 15 from Orange, was also charged with fail to disclose identity of driver. They were both granted conditional bail to appear at a children's court on Monday 12 May 2025.

A 16-year-old from Central Coast was also charged with drive conveyance and goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen. He was granted conditional bail to appear at a children's Court on Thursday 22 May 2025.

Investigations under Operation Soteria continue.
