Teens Charged After Stolen Car Chase in Mt Druitt

Four teenagers have been charged after the pursuit of a stolen car in Sydney's west.

About 11.30pm Sunday (21 June 2026), police were conducting proactive patrols in the Mt Druitt area when they sighted a black SUV on Luxford Road, Shalvey, allegedly fitted with false registration plates.

When the driver allegedly ignored a police direction to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued for about 5km before the vehicle entered a shopping centre carpark on Carlisle Ave, Mt Druitt; when the SUV stopped, police arrested two 16-year-old girls, a 15-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy at the scene.

They were taken to Mt Druitt Police Station, and the vehicle was seized for further examination.

One of the older girls – who police will allege was the driver – was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, learner not accompanied by driver/police officer/tester and use class A vehicle with unauthorised number plate affixed.

The remaining three teens were charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, with the boy also charged with breach of bail.

All four were refused bail and appeared before a children's court yesterday (Monday 22 June 2026), where they were all granted conditional bail.

The two 16-year-old girls and the 15-year-old boy are due to appear before a children's court on Monday 3 August 2026, while the 15-year-old girl is due to appear before a children's court on Thursday 25 June 2026.

The vehicle was reported stolen from a Tallawong address on Thursday 4 June 2026.
