Ten charged over drug supply at Summer Gathering music festival

Police have charged 10 people over the alleged supply of prohibited drugs following the Summer Gathering music festival in Sydney's west.

The high-visibility police operation, led by South West Metropolitan Region, was conducted at the Sydney Olympic Park music festival between 6pm and midnight yesterday (Saturday 25 January 2020).

More than 6,000 people attended the music festival.

During the operation, there were 13 Court Attendance Notices (CAN) issued and two criminal infringement notices issued for allegedly possessing prohibited drugs, 14 youth cautions issued, and 10 people charged over the alleged supply of drugs.

Those charged include:

  • An 18-year-old Eastwood man who was charged with supply indictable quantity of prohibited drug after he was allegedly found with 100 MDMA capsules. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 26 January 2020).
  • A 26-year-old Homebush man who was charged with supply indictable quantity of prohibited drug after he was allegedly located with 97 MDMA capsules. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
  • An 18-year-old Homebush West woman who was charged with supply Indictable quantity prohibited drug and deal with proceeds of crime. She was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 3 March 2020.
  • A 25-year-old Pyrmont woman who was charged with supply prohibited drug. She was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 3 March 2020.
  • A 21-year-old Parramatta man who was issued a CAN for supply prohibited drug. He will appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 3 March 2020.
  • A 21-year-old Rydalmere man who was issued a CAN for supply prohibited drug. He is due to Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 3 March 2020.
  • A 21-year-old St Marys man who was issued a CAN for supply prohibited drug. He will appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 3 March 2020.
  • A 20-year-old Victorian man who was issued a CAN for supply prohibited drug. He will appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 3 March 2020.
  • An 18-year-old Terrigal man who was issued a CAN for supply prohibited drug and is due to before Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 3 March 2020.
  • A 22-year-old Zetland man who was issued a CAN for supply prohibited drug. He will appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 3 March 2020.

Officers also ejected 23 people from the premises for intoxication and drug-related matters.
