The fish in the barrell

A Noble Park man has been charged after he was caught allegedly hoon driving in Noble Park last night, Victoria Police say.

It’s alleged the 39-year-old driver performed a ‘burn-out’ at the intersection of Princes Highway and Corrigan Road about 9.45pm.

An unmarked police car was waiting at a red light on Princes Highway, at the intersection, at the time.

The man allegedly sped off from the intersection under heavy acceleration before he was intercepted.

Police performed a preliminary breath test on the driver and a subsequent evidentiary breath test.

It’s alleged the man blew 0.187 whilst on a zero alcohol limit licence condition.

The man’s Ford sedan was impounded for a period of 30 days and he will have to pay $961 towing and storage costs to get it back.

He was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 20 April charged with drink driving, driving in a dangerous manner, careless driving, driving under the influence, assault police and resist police.
