'The Future Story for St Arnaud'

St Arnaud community members will have the opportunity to participate in a workshop to help shape the future of St Arnaud and District.

The workshop series is open to all community members, free of charge, as an all-inclusive program to build the capacity of the community to lead collaborative change.

Council is partnering with local groups and organisations including St Arnaud Community Action Network (SCAN), business traders, sports and recreation groups, community not-for-profit organisations, education, health services and state government to make this happen.

Funded by a grant from the state government, the "The Future Story for St Arnaud" campaign is designed to acknowledge a rich history, enhance the joys of present life, and create a vision for the future. It's up to the community to write on the pages, and develop the next chapters in the "Story of St Arnaud."

Northern Grampians Shire Council acknowledges the ideas and suggestions put forward by the community previously, in particular, the desire to work more closely with council on the future planning of our community.

Kara Kara Ward Councillor, Tony Driscoll said, "We really value the knowledge and skills of our St Arnaud residents with their visions for the town, so we're eager to work on and build this together."

The sessions will take place in the Perry Room at St Arnaud Town Hall on:

● Wednesday 18 September 4pm-9pm

● Thursday 19 September 4pm-9pm

● Sunday 22 September from 10am-4pm.

Two twilight sessions and a weekend session have been chosen to enable more people to attend rather than across three business days. Community members are encouraged to drop in at any time that suits to participate during these sessions.

There will be further community participation following the workshop series, at a 'Community Visioning' day on Sunday 24 November to bring the community's visions together to continue to write "The Future Story for St Arnaud."

Bookings can be made online at https://storyofstarnaud.eventbrite.com.au or at customer service at the St Arnaud Town Hall.
