Theft and petrol drive-off in Melbourne's west

Police are investigating a theft from a motor vehicle and subsequent petrol drive-off which took place in Melbourne’s west last month, Victoria Police say.

An unknown male offender smashed the window of a vehicle in Upton Street, Altona, about 12.55pm time on Thursday, 15 February.

The man stole cash before leaving in a white Ford Falcon Ute being driven by a second man.

The next day, about 3pm, a man driving the same vehicle filled up with petrol at a service station in Napier Street, Footscray, and left without making an attempt to pay.

Police have released images of two men who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Investigators are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
