Theft from Melbourne eatery

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released images of a man following the theft of a backpack from a Melbourne restaurant last month.

Investigators have been told the unknown man entered the rear of the Elizabeth Street eatery via an emergency exit just after 11.20pm on 17 July.

The man walked around a staff only area before stealing a backpack and leaving.

Detective have released CCTV images of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s, with light brown hair.
