Theft from motor vehicle - St Kilda

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following a theft from motor vehicle incident in St Kilda last month, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a man has entered an underground car park at an apartment building on Alma Road about 11.30pm on Tuesday 19 September.

The man, believed to be 30 to 40-years-of-age, then broke into a black Toyota Rav 4.

A pair of sunglasses was stolen, but it is not clear what else was taken at this stage.

The offender is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance with short dark brown hair and a distinctive tattoo on his left hand.

He was wearing jeans and a jacket with ‘FireWalk’ embroidered on the back.

Police have released a picture of a jacket similar to the one described, as well as images of a man who may be able to assist with enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
