Theft from motor vehicles and deceptions in Melbourne's South

Police are investigating following several thefts from motor vehicles leading to subsequent deceptions in Melbourne’s south last month, Victoria Police say.

It was reported that a man broke into a number of parked cars on Williams Street in Prahran overnight between 14 and 15 October.

The thief is believed to have then used a credit card stolen from one of the vehicles at several locations across the Malvern and Toorak areas.

The man is perceived as being Caucasian, aged in his 30s, and appears to have scarring on his right cheek.

He was wearing navy blue shorts, a light-coloured hoodie, and a white and grey scarf.

The man was also reported to have been travelling on a bicycle.

Investigators have released images of a man they believe can assist in their enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
