Theft of 1970s Ford Fairlane hardly fair

Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance after a classic 1970s Ford Fairlane was stolen from a home in Whittlesea early last month.

Detectives believe unknown offenders have gained access to a carport at the rear of the Whittlesea home between 26 April and 6 May.

The car, thought to be worth around $25,000, is distinctive in style with its burgundy-coloured front left quarter panel, 'whitewall tyres' and NSW registration plates.

The classic 1970s model was being restored by the victim.
