Thief in hot water at Davoren Park, SA

A man was arrested after allegedly trying to steal a hot water service from a vacant premises at Davoren Park, according to SA Police.

A security officer was checking the vacant SA Housing Trust premises in Connell Street about 4.15am on Friday 9 September, when he found a man in the rear yard of the property and rang police.

Patrols arrived within minutes and arrested the suspect. The man had allegedly forced entry to the house and was trying to load a stolen six-foot tall hot water service into a tiny two-wheel trailer on the back of his bicycle.

The 51-year-old Elizabeth East man was charged with serious criminal trespass, property damage and theft and refused police bail. He will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
