Third Man Arrested After Norlane Fatal Fire

Arson and Explosives Squad detectives have this morning arrested a third man following a fatal house fire in Norlane yesterday.

A 23-year-old Norlane man was arrested at his home address around 9am. He will now be interviewed by investigators.

Two men arrested yesterday, a 35-year-old from Norlane and a 38-year-old from Breakwater, have been released pending further enquiries

Emergency services were called to reports of a fire at a block of units on Thompson Road about 3am on Tuesday, 31 March.

Crews extinguished the blaze and located an unresponsive woman inside one of the properties.

The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, was treated at the scene but could not be revived.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident and the cause of the fire remain ongoing.
