Third man charged over aggravated armed robbery at Lauderdale

Detectives have today charged a third man over the aggravated armed robbery of the Foreshore Tavern at Lauderdale on Friday 31 January.

A 39 year old man from Seven Mile Beach was arrested in Sandy Bay yesterday afternoon. He has today been charged with aggravated armed robbery as well as possessing and selling a controlled drug.

Police will allege the man planned and coordinated the robbery, performed the role of 'lookout' while the incident was taking place and later shared in the proceeds.

He has been detained in custody and will appear in Hobart Magistrates Court this afternoon.

Detective Inspector Doug Oosterloo from Bellerive CIB said that information from the public had helped police to apprehend the man.

"Once again, information from members of the public has helped detectives in this investigation and we are very grateful for the community's help."
