Third man charged over alleged drug supply and $36 million importation conspiracy

Detectives have charged a third man as they continue to investigate the supply of methylamphetamine (ice) across Sydney.

In June 2018, detectives from the Drug and Firearms Squad established Strike Force Decry to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs by an alleged criminal network operating in Sydney's west.

As part of their inquiries, detectives uncovered a number of alleged conspiracies to import up to 40kg of ice, which would have an estimated potential street value of $36 million, from overseas into Sydney.

During the investigation, Strike Force Decry detectives charged two men, aged 27 and 37, last month. They remain before the courts.

Following inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a storage facility in Guildford on Tuesday 26 February 2019.

Detectives located several boxes of washing powder that was seized to undergo forensic examination.

Following further inquiries, Strike Force Decry investigators executed a search warrant at a unit in Carlingford on Thursday 14 March 2019.

Officers located and seized several items, including mobile phones and document relevant to the investigation.

On Friday (22 March 2019), a 38-year-old man was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for participate in criminal group and possess prescribed restricted substance.

He is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 8 May 2019.
