Third man charged over multiple break and enters targeting Lake Macquarie, Newcastle firms, NSW

A third man has been charged in relation to multiple break, enter and steal offences targeting businesses within the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle area, NSW Police say.

Police from the Lake Macquarie Target Action Group have been investigating numerous aggravated break and enters in the area during May 2018.

Safes and cash registers have been stolen in commercial premises in Edgeworth, Warners Bay, Mount Hutton, Adamstown, and New Lambton.

Following inquiries, detectives attended a home on Rhodes Street, Blackalls Park, about 6:15pm last Saturday (2 June 2018), and arrested a 34-year-old man.

He was taken to Toronto Police Station where he was charged with six counts of aggravated break and enter in company, and one count of break, enter and steal.

The man was refused bail to appear in Belmont Local Court next Wednesday 13 June 2018.

Two men remain before the court, each charged with six break and enter-related offences after being arrested on Wednesday 16 May 2018. They remain in custody.
