Thomastown Fatal Shooting Probe Ongoing

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Thomastown last night.

Emergency services responded to reports a man was shot at a reserve on Victoria Drive shortly after 7.40pm on Sunday, 7 September.

The 22-year-old Thomastown man was treated at the scene however passed away shortly after.

The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being determined, however police believe the victim may have been involved in a confrontation with the offender or offenders in the reserve carpark shortly before it occurred.

Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed any suspicious activity, or who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage.
