Thornbury crash leaves caravan in flames

Police are investigating after a crash in Thornbury earlier this morning, Victoria Police say.

Police believe that the vehicle, a black 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution sedan, was travelling east on Clarendon Street when the crash occurred about 1am.

It appears the vehicle lost control at the intersection with Wales Street before crashing into a caravan parked at that location.

The driver, a 24-year-old Queensland man and his passenger, also a 24-year-old Queensland man, managed to escape the car before both the sedan and the caravan burst into flames.

Both have minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the vehicle prior is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
