Thousands of cigarettes seized in Newcomb

Geelong Police arrested a woman after a search warrant in Newcomb this morning.

Police executed a warrant on a Boundary Road premises about 10am.

Investigators allegedly seized over 18,000 illegal cigarettes, 7.25kg of illegal tobacco and other items used in the manufacturing of illegal cigarettes, and an amount of cash.

A 46-year-old St Albans woman located at the address was arrested.

She has been interviewed and released pending summons in relation to offences against the Tobacco Act and possessing the proceeds of crime.
