Three Arrested After Extended Pursuit in Melbourne's Southeast 6 June

Police have arrested three people following an extended follow through Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs this morning.

Officers responded to reports offenders were breaking into a Mercedes sedan at a Mount Waverly home about 3.30am.

It's understood the offenders was disturbed when the victim came outside to investigate.

The offenders, believed to be armed with weapons, took off in an allegedly stolen silver Commodore.

Public Order Response Unit officers spotted the Commodore speeding through side streets before Air Wing picked it up a short time later.

Stop sticks were successfully deployed on Ferntree Gully Road but the Commodore continued driving on its rims.

The vehicle came to a stop on Fulton Road, Blackburn South about 4.30am.

The occupants gave themselves up and Critical Incident Response Team officers who arrested the trio.

All three are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
