Three arrested following Lalor and Preston armed robberies

Four people are in custody following an alleged series of armed robberies in Melbourne’s north today. , Victoria Police say

Police were initially called to May Road, Lalor, following reports of an alleged armed robbery at a jewellery store about 2pm.

It is believed the same men were then involved in a second attempted armed robbery at a tobacconist on Plenty Road, Preston about 2.35pm.

A pursuit commenced.

The pursuit concluded on West Gate Bridge where three people were arrested about 5.25pm.
