Three arrested following series of carjackings and armed robberies

Armed Crime Squad detectives have arrested two men and a woman following a series of incidents across Melbourne in recent days, Victoria Police say.

It is alleged a red Holden Commodore followed a black Toyota sedan to Yuong Court, Lalor in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The five occupants of the Toyota were assaulted and their phones and wallets stolen.

Police arrested a 26-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, both with no fixed place of address, in relation to this incident in Mulgrave about 1pm yesterday.

They were charged with a range of offences including aggravated carjacking, armed robbery and firearms offences.

Both were remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

A 32-year-old Glenroy man was arrested last night in Glenroy in relation to the Lalor incident, as well as alleged carjacking incidents in Ivanhoe and Malvern East and a theft of motor vehicle incident in Doncaster yesterday.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
