Three arrested following South Melbourne shooting

Detectives from the Echo Taskforce have arrested three men today after shots were fired at a business premises in South Melbourne last month, Victoria Police say.

Warrants were executed at residential properties in Dallas and Meadow Heights about 5am this morning.

A 25-year-old Dallas man, a 26-year-old Meadow Heights man and a 23-year-old Dallas man were all arrested and interviewed by police.

The 25-year-old Dallas man and 26-year-old Meadow Heights man have both been charged with discharge firearm at premises, use firearm in a public place, reckless conduct endanger life, reckless conduct endanger serious injury, use firearm in the commission of an indictable offence, use unregistered handgun, theft of motor vehicle, fraudulently use registration plate and arson.

The pair will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

The 23-year-old Dallas man was released pending further enquiries.

The arrests follow an incident on 14 July where a firearm was discharged into a business premises on Clarendon Street, South Melbourne.

No one was injured during the incident.
