Three arrested following Wyong shooting, NSW

Police have arrested three people as their investigations continue into a fatal shooting on the Central Coast yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before 12.30pm yesterday, emergency services were called to Warner Avenue, Wyong, following reports of shots fired.

A 22-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but died at the scene. Another man, aged 28, was treated for a grazes to his hand and shoulder at the scene.

It is believed a number of shots were fired from a white vehicle into the car the two men were sitting in.

Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command has been investigating the incident with assistance from the Homicide Squad.

About 10.50am today, police arrested a 48-year-old man during a car stop at George Booth Drive, Sea Hampton. He was taken to Toronto Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries. His car was seized for forensic examination.

Tactical Operations Unit officers stopped a second vehicle in Forest Road, Wyee, about 1.20pm and arrested a 24-year-old man. His car was also seized by police.

A 17-year-old girl was arrested a short time later in nearby Wyee Street.

They were both taken to Wyong Police Station.

Investigations are continuing.
