Three arrested over deliberate fires in Bidwill

Police have arrested two teenagers and a man after they allegedly lit several fires in bushland at Bidwill last night, NSW Police say.

About 10.30pm today, police were called to Cupania Crescent after officers from Fire & Rescue NSW extinguished a number of small spot fires in the area and observed four males in the vicinity.

Police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command attended and two teenagers – aged 17 and 15 – and a 20-year-old man were arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.

A second 17-year-old male was spoken to at the scene but not arrested.

The 20-year-old man was charged with set fire to property. He was granted conditional bail to face Mt Druitt Local Court on Thursday 4 August 2016.

The 17-year-old male was charged with set fire to property. He was granted conditional bail to face a children’s court on Thursday 4 August 2016.

The 15-year-old will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
