Three charged after injured man dies in hospital, NSW

Three men have been charged following the death of a man in hospital after suffering significant head injuries at Lake Haven last month, NSW Police say.

About 10.30pm on Saturday 24 June 2017, the 21-year-old injured man was located unconscious on the roadway of Lake Haven Drive near Lyle Street.

He had significant head injuries and was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being transported to John Hunter Hospital.

On Sunday 25 June 2017, the man’s life support was switched off and he died.

Detectives from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command assisted by State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad established Strike Force Carnelian to investigate the man’s death.

Following inquiries, a 37-year-old man was arrested at a home in Kanwal about 10.20am today (Monday 3 July 2017. He was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with conceal serious indictable offence of another person.

The man appeared at Wyong Local Court today and was refused bail to appear at the same court tomorrow.

A second man, aged 28, was arrested at Wyong Police Station about 11.40am today.

He was charged with murder and refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court tomorrow.

A third man, aged 34, was arrested at Terrigal Drive, Erina about 1.45pm tomorrow. He was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with murder.

The man was bail refused to appear at Gosford Local Court tomorrow.
