Three charged following alleged assault, robbery in Claymore

Police have charged three people following the alleged assault and robbery of a man in Sydney’s south-west yesterday morning, NSW Police say.

Shortly after midnight today, a 31-year-old man attended a home on Roberts Way, Claymore, where he met with a 22-year-old woman.

When leaving the home later that morning, its alleged two men assaulted the man and stole his wallet before taking his car keys and taking a number of tools from his vehicle that was parked nearby.

Officers from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command were alerted and launched an investigation into the incident.

Inquiries revealed the man’s credit cards had allegedly been used to make a number of fraudulent transactions at multiple retail outlets during the day.

Following further investigations, police returned to the Roberts Way home yesterday afternoon, where the 22-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station.

Two men, aged 28 and 34, were also arrested nearby and taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station.

The woman was later charged with dishonestly obtain property by deception and granted conditional bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 20 June 2016.

The younger man was charged with aggravated robbery inflict actual bodily harm and dishonestly obtain property by deception. He was also charged with larceny in relation to a separate incident and was refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court today tomorrow.

The older man was charged with stealing regarding an unrelated matter and was granted conditional bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 9 May 2016.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.
