Two men and a teenage boy have been charged with break, enter and steal offences in the state's Orana region this week.
Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were called to a home on Doncaster Avenue, Dubbo, about 12.45am yesterday (Monday 19 January 2026), following reports of an attempted break and enter.
Police were told the resident – a woman in her 30s – was inside the home when she heard someone trying to open the front door.
The woman reported she disturbed three people in her front yard before they ran to a neighbouring property and tried to break into a vehicle parked on the driveway.
Police were called to the scene and saw three people in Page Avenue; a 19-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy were chased to Wellington Road where they were arrested. A third person was unable to be located.
They were taken to Dubbo Police Station where they were each charged with five offences,
- Attempted aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company intend steal (two counts)
- Larceny
- Attempted larceny, and
- Face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence.
The 19-year-old man was refused bail to face Bail Division Court 4 yesterday (Monday 19 January 2026), where he was formally refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 11 February 2026.
The 14-year-old boy – who was also charged with breach of bail – was refused bail to face a children's court yesterday (Monday 19 January 2026), where he was granted conditional bail to appear before a children's court on Monday 2 February 2026.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 21-year-old man on Windsor Parade, Dubbo, about 11.30am yesterday. He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was also charged with five offences,
- Attempted aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company intend steal (two counts)
- Larceny
- Attempted larceny, and
- Face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 today (Tuesday 20 January 2026).
