Three in custody over Devonport Robbery, TAS

Launceston Police have arrested three men in relation to an alleged aggravated armed burglary at the Pardoe Supermarket Takeaway yesterday afternoon, Tasmania Police say.

Police allege that around 4:20pm a man entered the takeaway store and demanded cash. When a customer confronted the man as he was leaving, the offender produced a knife and ran from the store. The men left the scene in a stolen white sports car.

The vehicle was later located in Deloraine and two men aged 22 and 26 were arrested nearby. They have been charged with Motor Vehicle Stealing, Aggravated Armed Robbery, Stealing and Trespass.

Two men are due to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at 11.30am today.

A third man has been taken into custody a short time ago and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are asking any members of the public who saw a white sports car driving erratically between East Devonport and Deloraine between 4.20pm and 6.00pm to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
