Three injured in Minto

A baby has been injured after a tray holding lit candles fell on her at a home in Minto overnight, NSW Police say.

Police from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command have been told several people were at a home in Haultain Street, Minto, about 9.40pm (Monday 1 January 2018), when the incident occurred.

An 11-month-old baby girl, being held by her mother, was injured by melting wax when the tray tipped towards her.

She suffered burns to her face, arms and legs. Her mother, 28, also sustained burns to face and minor burns to hands and feet. Her father, aged 35, sustained minor burns to his hands and feet.

Police rendered first aid until the arrival of Paramedics who took the girl to The Children’s Hospital Westmead, and her parents to Westmead Hospital.

They are reported to be stable.

Inquiries are continuing.
