Quotes attributable to Mayor of Hobsons Bay, Cr Diana Grima:
"As someone who has been part of local sports clubs, I know just how valuable funding like this is. Our local clubs are so important to the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our community.
"Not only do they help get people moving and staying active, they play a crucial role in being social hubs where people build lasting friendships and feel a sense of belonging to a community.
"But to make sure our clubs can continue to play this important role, they need facilities that help attract and retain their players, volunteers and supporters. So we welcome this announcement by the state government and thank them for their contribution."
