Three men arrested following police pursuit near ACT border, NSW

Police will seek the extradition of a man following a police pursuit that crossed the border into the Australian Capital Territory today, NSW Police say.

About 1.45am today, police attended a home on Bicentennial Drive, Jerrabomberra, in relation to inquiries about a stolen motor vehicle.

While at the location, it is alleged a man drove a Mercedez Benz out of a garage and rammed a Toyota that was parked in the driveway.

Officers called on the driver to stop, but he allegedly accelerated harshly hitting an officer’s leg.

The driver then rammed a police car and drove away.

A pursuit with the vehicle was initiated and continued through a number of streets before entering the Australian Capital Territory, where a short time later the vehicle stopped due to damage.

Three occupants of the vehicle fled, but the 19-year-old driver and two passengers, all male, were arrested.

The men were taken to Civic Police Station.

Officers attached to Monaro Local Area Command continue with inquiries into the incident and will apply for the extradition of the 19-year-old driver.

The Senior Constable who was hit by a car suffered minor lacerations and bruising.

Inquiries continue.
