Three men have been charged and more than $500,000 of cocaine has been seized following an investigation by the Drug and Firearms Squad, NSW Police say.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad established Strike Force Coane to investigate the supply of cocaine across Sydney.
Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives, assisted by the Tactical Operation Unit, arrested three men at a car park at Lilyfield just before midday yesterday (Wednesday 11 July 2018).
During a search of the men and their vehicles, investigators seized 2.7kg of cocaine, which has an estimated potential street value of more than $500,000; six grams of methylamphetamine (ice), and a gram of cannabis.
Shortly after the arrests, strike force detectives, assisted by the Public Order and Riot Squad, executed search warrants at a home at Ermington and a storage facility at Gladesville.
During the searches, police seized 100g cannabis, drug paraphernalia, mobile phones, clothing.
The men – aged 18, 36, and 38 – were taken to Newtown Police Station.
The 38-year-old Ermington man was charged with three counts of drug supply.
The 36-year-old Winston Hills man was charged with two counts of drug supply and drive motor vehicle while licence suspended.
The 18-year-old Ermington man was charged with drug supply, possess prohibited drug, and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.
All three men were refused bail to appear at Newtown Local Court today (Thursday 12 July 2018).
Inquiries are continuing.
