Three teenagers have been arrested following investigations into a malicious damage incident at a high school in Ballina last week, NSW Police say.
About 10.30pm on Thursday 8 September 2016, police were called to a high school on Cherry Street, following reports of malicious damage.
Officers from Richmond Local Area Command attended and discovered about 150 broken windows.
Following ongoing inquiries into the incident, about 6.15pm on Tuesday (13 September 2016), officers attended a caravan park in Ballina and arrested a 14-year-old boy.
He was taken to Ballina Police Station and charged with malicious damage and trespass.
The youth was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Monday 19 September 2016.
A second boy, aged 15, was arrested at a home in Ballina and will be dealt with by way of Youth Conference under the provisions of The Young Offenders Act.
On Thursday 15 September 2016, investigators attended an address Ballina where they arrested a 16-year-old girl.
She was taken to Ballina Police Station where she was charged with destroy or damage property and trespass.
The teen was granted condition bail and will appear at a children’s court on Monday 19 September 2016.
