Three teens charged as part of investigations into fatal stabbing

Detectives have charged three teenagers as investigations into the alleged fatal stabbing of a teenager in Sydney's west last month continue.

About 2.50am on Saturday 4 June 2022, emergency services were called to Australis Drive, Ropes Crossing, following reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers attached to Mt Druitt Police Area Command found a 16-year-old boy suffering a stab wound.

Officers performed CPR until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived; however, the boy died at the scene.

Detectives, assisted by State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, have established Strike Force BOBR to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following extensive investigations, including public appeals for assistance, two search warrants were executed at homes on Pages Road, St Marys, and Jill Street, Marayong, where a number of items were seized for forensic examination about 6am yesterday (Thursday 28 July 2022).

Two teenage boys – both aged 17 – were arrested at each home.

A third teen – aged 16 – was arrested at Tregear a short time later.

The three teens were taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where they were each charged with murder, affray, and wield knife in public place.

They were refused bail and will appear at a children's court today (Friday 29 July 2022).

Inquiries under Strike Force BOBR continue.
