Three Wyndham Intersections Get Green Light

Wyndham City is undertaking a $2.4 million Traffic Signals Project that will see traffic lights installed at three key intersections.

Construction is scheduled to commence next month at the Greens Road and Haines Drive intersection in Wyndham Vale, and the Dunnings Road and Lennon Boulevard intersection and Miles Franklin Boulevard and Boardwalk Boulevard intersection in Point Cook.

Wyndham City's City Design portfolio holder Cr Josh Gilligan said these much-needed intersection upgrades would improve safety and traffic movement.

"Improving the safety of our local roads is one of the most important issues facing our community," Cr Gilligan said.

"These works are being carried out to enhance the safety for all road users at these busy intersections, especially schoolchildren crossing the road to get to one of the nearby schools."

"The traffic lights will also reduce traffic congestion during peak times at each intersection, getting drivers and pedestrians alike to their destination sooner."

"This Wyndham City project forms part of a $27.2 million spend to upgrade and build new local roads over 2021/22."

Construction is scheduled to commence in September 2021 and will be completed in mid-2022.
